The Earn As You Learn, PSW program is being funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Ontario Government through the Skills Advance Ontario (SAO) pilot project. Pinecrest Queensway Community Health Centre (PQCHC) has been providing community and health services to those in the west of Ottawa since 1979. It is a non-profit organization and the largest community health centre in Ontario.  Our team of more than 347 employees includes physicians, nurses, social workers, counsellors, employment counsellors, dietitians, community developers, health promoters and outreach workers. We have approximately 50 student placements annually and nearly 400 active volunteers. PQCHC supports more than 40 on-going programs and services throughout the catchment area and eastern Ontario and has been providing employment programming for more than 20 years.  

Currently, PQCHC runs multiple programs funded by Employment Ontario, including two pre-apprenticeships, Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG), an OLMP Agreement, an EO Employment Service site and has recently received funding confirmation for a SkillsAdvance Ontario project. To date, success rates have been high in all funded programs. In addition, PQCHC runs three employment programs for newcomers funded by Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada.

Carefor is Eastern Ontario’s largest home healthcare and community support services not-for-profit. Formerly the Victorian Order of Nurses, Carefor has been providing a wide range of services since 1897.
